As one of
Miami-Dade County’s leading mental health centers, Green Cross offers individuals
suffering from mental or emotional disorders a different alternative to 24-hour
hospitalization. By providing patients with a variety of intensive treatments in a safe
and pleasant outpatient setting, Green Cross directly treats the condition of every
patient and helps them find a solution that enables them to lead a more productive and
healthy life. With this goal in mind, Green Cross offers programs designed to effectively deal with the problems individuals face at home, in the workplace and internally. Among the services it offers includes a partial hospitalization program, an employee assistance program and a psychological assistance program for the family. Green Cross was founded in 1994 by Dr. Miguel A. Núñez, Jr., a Primary Care Physician certified in managed care medicine and his father Dr. Miguel A. Núñez, Sr., a 40-year veteran of psychiatry and a leading authority on electroconvulsive therapy. In 1996, Green Cross’ partial hospitalization program became the first free-standing program in Miami-Dade County to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, one of the nation’s most selective healthcare accreditation organizations for quality patient care.
